I have a 1st gen, 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro still running iOS 10.3.3 and I am NOT experiencing these recent intermittent touch screen issues. This seems to have started since installing the 12.1 update, but I am not sure if that is the issue.
With the 1st Gen, plug it into the iPads lightning port. Apple Pencil not responding with newest iOS update. iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, and iPod touch (6th generation). Then, select ' Forget This Device ' and confirm by tapping on ' Forget Device '. iPhone 6s and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation). I am beginning to think that this is a growing issue that is NOT hardware related, but either iOS 11 and/or iOS 12 related bug.
